Tenants have 7-days a week access to their units. This includes access on holidays.
Tenants must leave the facility at closing times.
Those who have forgotten their locker and access code will not be able to get into the compound until regular office hours.
* Office will be closed December 25-26th and January 1st.

4. Is Kelowna Self Storage secure?

|
|
Kelowna Self Storage has the most up-to-date security system available to keep your belongings safe.

5. How high and wide are the doors to the storage rooms?
|
|
|
The 5x5 and 5x10 rooms have doors that are 3'4" wide & 7'4" high
The 10x10 and 10x15 have doors that are 8' wide & 7'4" high
The 10x11 have doors that are 8' wide & 8' high
The 12x20 have doors that are 9' wide & 12' high
The 10x20, 10x25 and 10x30 have doors that are 8'8" wide

6. How high are the ceilings in the storage rooms?

5x5, 5x10, 10x10, 10x15, 10x20, 10x25 & 10x30 are 9' high

7. Do you have to go into a building to access your storage unit?
|
|
|
All of the storage rooms at Kelowna Self Storage are outside ground level access. You just drive up beside your unit and load your belongings in.
All of the tenant's goods must fit into the rented storage unit(s). The tenant cannot leave any belongings outside of the storage unit(s) for any period of time.

8. Are pets allowed on the premises?
|
|
|
For the safety of all customers and staff we do not allow pets on the lot of Kelowna Self Storage. If you have a pet with you, do not allow the pet to run free. Should we have to clean up after your pet, you will be charged $25.00 per occurrence.

|
|
9. Does Kelowna Self Storage allow hazardous materials on the premises?
|
|
|
All flammable, explosive, and corrosive products are forbidden. No dangerous, or harmful chemicals or materials (propane tanks, fuel, paint supplies, cleaners, etc.).

10. Can I store food items in my storage unit?
|
|
|
We do not recommend storing perishable foods, liquids, grains, or rice.
|
|
|
|
|
|
11. Are the storage rooms heated?
|
|
|
No, we do not offer climate controlled units.
|
|
|
|
|
|
12. How do I lock the storage unit?
|
|
|
You provide your own padlock on the door of your storage unit. Each unit is individually alarmed through the main security system of Kelowna Self Storage, but a padlock is recommended. For your convenience we do sell all moving and storage supplies including padlocks.

13. What are your methods of payment?
|
|
|
Kelowna Self Storage accepts: Visa, Mastercard, Interac, personal cheques, e-mail money transfer, and cash.
U-Haul accepts: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Interac (with exceptions), and cash.

|
|
|
|
14. Is their a damage deposit or security deposit required?
|
|
|
Yes. A half a month's rent is required at the time of rental, in addition to the first month's rent. The security deposit is refunded at the time of move-out provided the unit is clean and empty.
|
|
|
|
|
|
15. Does Kelowna Self Storage charge any late fees?
|
|
|
Yes. A $10.00 fee will be charged 10 days after rent is due. Access will be denied 5 days after rent is due until payment is received.
|

|
|
|
16. Is Kelowna Self Storage affiliated with U-Haul storage?
|
|
|
No. Kelowna Self Storage is independently owned and operated. U-Haul storage rebates cannot be redeemed with us. We apologize for any inconvenience.

17. How often can I go into my storage unit?
|
|
|
You can access your storage unit as often as you like during the hours of gate amd locker access operation.

18. Where can I get boxes and paper?
|
|
|
At Kelowna Self Storage we sell all of your packing and moving supplies, including boxes and packing paper.
|
|
|
|
|
|
19. Is there power to each storage unit? Can I plug in my freezer and/or refrigerator?
|
|
|
There are no provisions for electricity to plug in appliances or any other equipment in the storage units. We do however have a light in each unit on a timer.
|
|
|
|
|
|
20. If my circumstances change and I move out early do I get a refund?
|
|
|
All of our storage rooms are charged for and paid for one month in advance. We have a one month minimum, after that all unused rent is pro-rated and refunded back to the unit renter.
|
|
|
|
|
|
21. What are your check-out procedures?
|
|
|
Customers wishing to vacate their storage unit(s) must do so in person at the office, at the time you wish to leave the unit(s). You are responsible for the rent payment until you check out. Please advise the office when your unit is vacated. Notice is appreciated but not required.

|
|
|
22. Does Kelowna Self Storage pick up and deliver?
|
|
|
No we do not pick up or deliver. It is the customer's responsibility to hire a mover or to move into a storage unit.
|
|
|
|
|
|
23. Are my belongings insured while in storage? Do you sell insurance?
|
|
|
We do not insure your goods while in storage. We suggest that you advise your insurance company when you place your belongings into storage. Your insurance company can provide you with a storage policy as we cannot sell storage insurance.

|
24. Do you have a forklift available for customer use?
|
|
|
We do have a forklift available for a nominal fee. Please check with the office for rates and availability.
